Jobs in health care and social assistance have steadily grown in recent years, making up the largest sector of Georgia’s economy, according to an analysis by the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce.

In 2018, the last year for which full numbers were available, 17% of all job postings in the state were in that category.

The second most jobs were in retail trade, at 9%. Workers in professional, scientific and technical fields were in third-most demand, at 8% of job postings. Manufacturing jobs came in at 7%.

Education services was second, growing by 63%.

The number of jobs advertised in the state also reflect the growing economy. There were 803,212 jobs posted in 2014 and 1,031,530 posted in 2018. That was a growth of 28%.
